Madhya Pradesh: A disturbing video from Madhya Pradesh has gone viral on social media, drawing attention to the often-overlooked issue of domestic violence against men. The footage reportedly shows a woman physically and verbally assaulting her husband, a railway loco pilot, during a heated argument at their home

The man, a 30-year-old loco pilot from Panna district, has alleged that he has been facing physical and mental harassment from his wife, Harshita Raikwar, ever since their marriage in June 2023. According to his complaint, the abuse escalated over time, with frequent disputes related to finances and family matters.
The incident captured in the viral video reportedly took place on March 20 in Satna district. The husband claims he decided to record the confrontation after repeated complaints to family members and authorities failed to bring any resolution. In the video, the woman can allegedly be seen hitting and shouting at him during an argument.
According to the loco pilot, his wife repeatedly demanded complete control over his salary and allegedly threatened to implicate him and his family in false legal cases if her demands were not met. He said the ongoing conflict caused severe mental stress and affected his personal and professional life.
After recording the incident, the man submitted the video along with a formal complaint to the police. Authorities have reportedly registered a case and issued notices to the woman and her family as part of the investigation. Police officials stated that they are examining the evidence and recording statements from both sides before taking further action.
However, Harshita Raikwar has strongly rejected the allegations. Speaking to local media, she described the incident as a one-time emotional outburst and claimed it occurred only after her husband allegedly misbehaved with or assaulted her mother during a family dispute. She has also accused her husband and his family of dowry-related harassment, allegations that the loco pilot has denied.

The conflicting claims have turned the case into a subject of intense discussion on social media. Many users have expressed support for the husband, arguing that domestic violence against men often goes unreported due to social stigma and lack of awareness. Others have urged caution, emphasizing the need for a fair investigation before reaching conclusions.
The viral video has once again reignited the debate over gender-neutral domestic violence laws in India. Several activists and legal experts have pointed out that while laws protecting women from abuse are essential, there is also a growing need to address cases where men become victims of domestic violence.
As the investigation continues, police officials have appealed to the public not to spread unverified claims and to allow the legal process to take its course. The case remains under examination, with authorities expected to review all evidence and testimonies before determining the next steps.
The incident has highlighted a broader conversation about domestic abuse, mental health, and the importance of ensuring justice and support for victims regardless of gender.
